Social Justice
Unitarians and Universalists have been deeply engaged in social justice work for centuries. We have worked to abolish slavery, win voting rights for women, and champion the needs of the poor and mentally ill.
Today, our faith continues this work of conscience, advocating for issues such Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian and Transgender (BGLT) rights, racial justice, environmental justice, and peace, to name just a few.
Within our own church, we work to develop and nurture vibrant social responsibility awareness in our local community and beyond. This takes on many forms, including supporting local charitable organizations at home and overseas and partnering with a Unitarian church in Hungary.
We are committed to promoting peace and compassion, social justice and respect for the worth and dignity of all people and the environment through education, advocacy, fundraising and community service.
