NSUC's Library

The church has a well-stocked library of about 2,000 thousand books on a variety of subjects of interest to Unitarians. About half the titles are of interest to children and youth.

All aspects of world religions are covered, as well as philosophy, psychology, ethics, the environment, social justice issues, literature, biographies and history.

Library Details

Location: next to the fireside area on the lower level of the main building

Hours: the library operates on an honour system. Visit it any time the church is open. Be sure to fill in the library cards so we know whom to call when books are overdue.

Info: volunteers are available on Sundays after church to explain the library system and help you find just the right book.

Loan period: the normal load period is one month. During the summer you can take out as many books as you like, and keep them until September. Just be sure to bring them back from the cabin!

Birthday Book Program

image of children's bookWe add children’s books to our Children’s library through a Birthday Book Program. You are invited to donate a children’s book on your child’s birthday, inscribed with his/her name, the date and which birthday is being celebrated.

You may have a favourite or you might want a suggestion from our Director of Religious Education.  This is a loving way to celebrate a special day and one we would remember with gratitude.
